Rokid , a Chinese company specializing in augmented reality (AR) solutions, has revealed the launch of in-store payment capabilities for its AR eyewear, in collaboration with Alipay. This integration enables consumers in China to make purchases through voice and gesture controls with the Rokid Glasses smart glasses, removing the necessity to use a mobile device. The payment platform is backed by Alipay’s digital payment framework and its multifaceted risk management system, tailored specifically for augmented reality applications. Rokid has indicated that over 250,000 units of the Rokid Glasses have been ordered already, with deliveries starting in June. How it operates: Users connect their Alipay account through the Rokid app and activate voice authentication.
